Taylor McKeown occupies Girls 200m breaststroke gold – 2013 GHSF Australian Championships
Taylor McKeown of Aust Crawl occupied gold medal of the Girls 200m breaststroke in 17 to 18-year-olds category on day two of the 2013 GHSF Australian Age Swimming Championships in SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre, Adelaide on Wednesday, April 10.
The 18-year-old McKeown showed no mercy to her opponents in the 200m discipline as she cruised her way towards the finishing wall for first position. With her notable pace in the final round, she lived up to the expectations of her supporters and secured
the title.
With her gruelling pace, she remained in a six second lead over her closest swimmer and tapped the wall for the title with an effort of 2 minutes and 25.90 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Jessica Hansen of MLC Aquatic, who was nearly 13 metres slower from her foregoing finisher and hit the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 32.03 seconds.
Third fastest spot of the race was obtained by Carle Millikin of Willoughby, who was three and a half body length slower and surfaced on the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 35.50 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Emily Zukic of Surrey Park, who was nearly four seconds slower from her preceding swimmer and surfaced on the finishing end with an effort of 2 minutes and 39.61 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Lily Collins of Traralgon, who was almost 0.80 seconds apart and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 40.34 seconds.
Subsequently, Lily was traced by Jodie Simson of Jets, who stayed 0.60 seconds slower and emerged on the finishing end for sixth position with the timing of 2 minute and 40.94 seconds.
Seventh spot of the race was obtained by Ann Murray of West Coast, who was 0.97 seconds slower and emerged on the finishing end with the timing of 2 minutes and 41.94 seconds.
Eighth fastest spot of the race was secured by Steed Ashleigh of UNSW, who was 0.03 seconds slower and clocked 2 minutes and 41.94 seconds for eighth place.
Furthermore, McKeown received her accolade at the victory ceremony after the race.
