Taylor and Lewis visit the British Embassy before Berlin collision, the best of darts is yet to come!
Friday saw a different side of the darts world, as the top 2 darts magicians, Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis, paid a visit to the British Embassy in Berlin, before the German Darts Championship.
The Ambassador was thrilled to have the darts magicians at the embassy and greeted them warmly. The top 2 of the darts world presented Simon McDonald a unicorn dartboard as a token of their humility.
“It was great to be given such a great welcome by both the Ambassador and all the staff at the British Embassy, The visit gave us a great insight into the work done here by the staff at the Embassy,” said “The Power”.
Taylor was delighted to visit the embassy and believed that it would help the mighty duo at the German Darts Championship. They have taken blessings from the Ambassador and the workers.
“It's good to know that we have their support as we go into this tournament. And now that they have a new board, some of them should be able to work on their darts skills,” said Phil Taylor.
“The Jackpot” seemed relaxed and calm after the twitter page aftermath he endured a few weeks ago. It was pleasing to witness Lewis happy and smiling at the embassy.
“All the Embassy staff gave us a great reception and it was lovely to see the interest they had in darts and how excited they were for the tournament to be in Berlin,” said the world number 2.
The past has seen Taylor and Lewis head to head in battles worth remembering. They have been arch rivals throughout their lives and it was indeed a pleasant sight to see the rivals sharing a few smiles here and there in Berlin.
The German Darts Championship has kicked off with Dean Winstanley winning his first game and making a comeback after a long time.
Justin Pipe is also among the players who grasped early wins in the championship underway in Berlin.
Taylor versus Lewis is a dream match for every fan these days as both Taylor and Lewis have seen the rise and fall in the past few months. It would be interesting to witness the darts magicians going head on once again in Berlin.
