I need a new driver and these two drivers are in my price range and are both very good drivers. They are also both drivers to help fix my slice. So in your opinions what driver should i buy? I shot in the low 100's.

  1. The R7 Draw is the newer of the 2 drivers. If you have a problem with a slice you could also look at the Burner or Burner Draw. I have a Burner in my bag and from the beginning it flew straight and long. I am also a high handicapper. I average 101 when I play, but I have fun and don't hold up my foursome.

  2. Change your swing plane first to fix your slice. Then make your decision. You may then even want to check out the new Taylormade Burner. Fixing your slice will open up a whole new dimension.

  3. First off......equipment changes will not fix your slice.  Fix the slice first....lessons and practice are the only way to fix any swing flaw.   Then.....Buy what you hit best......pretty simple huh?

  4. Buy whatever you want, but unless you make some swing changes you are just going to have a new driver to slice with.  Equipment changes won't be much use to you if you can't swing consistantly on plane and on tempo.

I took up golf in college because I went to a school without a football program, and I wanted an activity to take the place of football in my life.  They offered golf as a PE class, so I took it to get a PE credit.  On the first day, we had an alum who was playing on the Nike (now Nationwide) tour come and offer a clinic to the class.  I was embarrassed because I was playing a no name beginners set of clubs that I purchased at Target for $100 while most of the others were playing Titleist, Callaway, Pings, etc.  He listened to me make a comment about my cheap equipment and then took my driver and bombed a drive 280 yards straight down the middle of the range.  That one day serves as a constant reminder to me that it doesn't matter what clubs you use - it matters how well you use them.

  5. You should demo both clubs and see which one you like best. you could also try to fix the slice and get a different club

  6. You'll have to pick. I guess your choice comes down to which one you feel will be better for your game and which one you like to swing better.
