Taylors Sky dazzled at the Henlow race track after winning the Primus Telecom Derby
Sustaining first position throughout the event, and fortifying his ownership for the £15,000 scrumptious prize money, trainer Charlie Lister’s victorious hound with conviction nailed down the title, Greyhound of the Year. Taylors Sky, who has been hitting
the wire in first place since the Heats, successfully stole the Primus Telecom Derby Final show, by covering the 460 meters distance at the pioneer stand.
The white and brindle dog with the most favourable odds was placed in trap 1, to be welcomed in the final combat.
Wearing red and white jacket, C Lister’s hound had to struggle a lot during the entire course, because of his strong contender Blonde Snapper, although Taylors Sky’s chase was immensely swift from the beginning.
Trainer M Wallis’s trap 6 racer began his quest with an impressive chase, which at few places became an intimidation for Taylors Sky. Instead of taking the situation in over his head, C Lister’s two-year-old dog withstood his abrupt chase, in urge to win
the quest.
On the other side, the three-year-old Blonde Snapper was rallying with the same momentum. Both hounds were spotted at the pointer station during the second bend, but suddenly Taylors Sky greased his elbows and dashed along the trail, impressively leaving
Blonde Snapper behind.
In total 27.16 seconds C Lister’s hound with 4 – 5 F odds, accomplished in giving his trainer a chance to sing the songs of praise to him.
Crossing the wire in first position, Taylors Sky impressively over threw M Wallis’ trap 6 racer by 2 lengths.
With the odds of 4 – 1, since the first show of Primus Telecom Derby, Blonde Snapper has been acquiring second position. Likewise in the finale M Wallis’s hound has been unfortunate enough and lost the opportunity to bring home festivity.
Reaching the wire in 27.32 seconds, the three-year-old defeated trainer D Childs’s Freedom Chief by 2 lengths.
The black dog inauspiciously experienced enormous obstruction, due to which he was not able to wrap up his chase at an impressive position.
In 27.48 seconds, the two-year-old managed to cross the finish line at third place.
The spot light was no doubt on the triumphant Taylors Sky, who after winning the Primus Telecom Derby for C Lister has verified that he is surely the Greyhound of the Year.
