Taylor’s century increases the chances of Zimbabwe’s victory against Bangladesh – Cricket News Update
Zimbabwe can hope for a victory in the only Test against Bangladesh after the captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BRM-Taylor-c1200 scored an unbeaten century in the 2nd Innings.
Bangladesh and Zimbabwe played the only Test match of the tour from August 4-8 at Harare Sports Club. Shakib Al Hassan won the toss and chose to field first.
It did not prove to be a very good decision by the Bangladeshi skipper as Zimbabwe scored a decent score of 370 runs in their first Innings in 131 overs. There were 3 prominent performances with the bat including a century by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/H-Masakadza-c1517.
Masakadza scored 104 runs while Sibanda made 78 and the captain Taylor contributed 71 runs. Bangladesh in response played a fine innings but lost all the wickets after scoring just 287 runs in 96.2 overs.
Zimbabwe started the 2nd inning confidently as they had a lead of 83 runs. This time the top order did not support the team the way they did in the 1st innings and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 had lost first 3 wickets in just 33 overs and had scored only
83 runs.
The hosts seemed to be in serious trouble but then the captain Brendan http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915 came in to rescue his team and played an impressive and much needed knock of 105 runs.
Taylor’s ton supported the crumbling line-up and brought the hosts near victory. Wicket-keeper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/T-Taibu-c2630 supported his captain well and scored a half century.
The centurion captain said, “I wasn’t thinking about the hundred too much, I hit a couple of boundaries around the 70s and then I started to think I could get it. We needed as much time as we wanted to get these guys out. This wicket will not change much
on day five. We have got to fight hard for these wickets.”
Zimbabwe and Bangladesh both have their eyes on the Test match and want to claim victory. Shakib Al Hassan had told the press prior to the Test match that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 has prepared very well foe this tour and especially for the longer format of cricket.
The newly appointed coach of Bangladesh, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stuart-Grant-Law-c91460 also expressed his high hopes from his team in their tour and said that he has worked very hard with the players. He employed new coaching techniques and has especially emphasized on the bowlers.
Law said that Zimbabwe should not underestimate Bangladeshis as this time they have quite a few surprises for the host team.
The fifth and the final day of very important as it is the match decider. If Bangladesh fails to bat extremely well in their 2nd Innings, the match will certainly conclude in Zimbabwe’s favor.
