  1. Make the children make stuffs with paper.Make them sing something together.Make them make invitation cards.Make them do lots of art work so that you put them on display when they come..

  2. We do a mother's tea every year.  Our preschoolers make flowers out of different materials (ie egg cartons, tissue paper, tagboard, etc) and one always has a picture of the child on it.  These are put into a container the children have decorated.  An example would be frozen juice container covered in decorated construction paper or a pretty piece of wrapping paper or  wallpaper.

Using paper covers for tables:  use different tempera paint colors and have children do their handprints as a border on the tablecloth.

Our children make mom a placemat:  large construction paper decorated by child.

Suggested food items:  tea or lemonade to drink; petite cupcakes, veggie slices, slice of cake, fruit salad, ham biscuits, a couple of cookies.

  3. The kids can have their own tea party on a table with stuffies!

  4. You can have the children make tablecloths from butcher papers and markers. Or they could do place mats and then laminate them. Add real flowers or have the children create flowers to put on the tables. Instead of using hot tea and coffee you could make sun tea and have ice tea and have juice for those who do not care for tea. Another good drink would be water with ice and fresh fruit.  The children could make cookies or just put cookies or cupcakes or brownies on trays. Have the children put on a little program of nursery rhymes and songs that they know. It can be a five minute program.

  5. Lots of great ideas above. I really like the idea of having the children prepare the food. There are lots of simple recipes or no bake recipes. Children can also prepare fruit for a fruit tray. Imagine how proud they'd be telling parents they made the food!!

Parents always love to hear children sing, so have them sing a short selection of favorites. Display lots of artwork where you're having the tea.

Having them make the decorations is a great idea, too. Flowers, placemats, etc.

  6. A tea pot pinata, check http://www.pinatas.com/Tea_Pot_Pinata_p/... for more ideas!

  7. it depends on the age of the chn. if they are 4-5 you can get them to cook or prepare easy foods and present that to the parents. another idea is to have the children put on a show/ dress up for the parents.. again this depends on the age of the children. For the younger chn, they could create artwork for the parents: like previously mentioned the tablecloth, or decorate the paper cups, or make centrepieces or scrapbooks for the tables.
