Tea as a birthday gift for a 50-year-old man in Europe (in Switzerland)? is it a good idea?

i'm invited to join the birthday party of my boyfriend's father. It's hard to find a gift for him, I just don't know if I can give him a beautiful box with various types of tea inside? In Europe, is it a good idea, or just a mad idea?

The swiss love tea and a box with a mixture is always great because you can pick out what you want! It's hard to get good tea here in switzerland so good idea!
