Last year I put loads of tea bags on my hydrangeas and made them go blue, but this year despite doing the same they are still pink with a few bluey purple is it because I drink Rooibos tea now?, does this have a less acid effect than normal tea ? or is there something else that is changing the soil PH ?

  1. Perhaps, teabags won't do much for your soil.  Miracle grow for acid loving plants( Might not say that on the box, but look for Azareas, camelia, etc.) is easy to use.  I don't know about  the adidity of Rooibos tea...sorry.

  2. It's just because the main plant dies before winter and then the new plants come up with a different color! The babies don't always look like their parents!!!! One other reason is that there not youst to the fact that they are without teabags, so try and add more tea bags for the flowers to get blue and if not add food colouring and water them with it and the flowers will turn blue.
