Teac legacy AG-800 AV receiver.

HI Guys
I have a teac AG-800amp half of my legacy surround sound system, it will not start just says protectection and shuts down.I have disconnected all the speaker cables and it is still the same.I presume it does this to protect itself. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
