Okay so I go to this drama group and auditions for the main yearly show are coming up in the next few weeks. I don't want to get the main role, but one of the other ones. The thing is, my drama coach is asking auditionees to sing, and i need a bit of help to make me sound better. I'm not sure how I sound but I think I am a bit nasal and whiny - not one of the best singers in the world! So can anyone help me or give me a few tips on singing, a good song to practice with would be fab!

Thanks alot : )

  1. How about  singing "A Bushel and a Peck" from Guys and Dolls.

    That used a kind of nasal and whiny voice.

    another is "I'm Just a Girl Who Can't Say No" from Oklahoma

  2. Well, my top recommendation would be to find a vocal instructor to give you a couple of lessons.

  3. ok first try to sing using your stomach. kinda suck it in a tiny bit and you will feel an odd feeling-sort of-using your stomach. when you sing "using" your stomach it helps your voice become louder and more powerful. also it helps you hold out those nasty long notes lol.

    i have some kinda quiet songs-kinda squealy-broadway songs you could give a try:

    * popular- wicked

    * I can hear the bells- hairspray

    those are pretty easy, and do have long, really high, or really low notes.

    hope i helped you!
