  1. I doubt it. The best way to learn to sing is to have a voice teacher. You'll never develop your own style if all you do is copy other people. The only way this would be possible is if you have perfect pitch, or if you are a genius !

  2. In the way you are trying to teach yourself to sing, no. Singing along trying to copy someone is a very bad way of trying to learn to sing, because you are trying to copy what they do with absolutely no idea HOW they are doing it. You will not get much better by doing that. It's like someone trying to learn to play Chopin on the piano by listening to someone play it then trying to do the same with no training. Imagine what a mess that would be!

Anyone can learn to be a good singer, but you need to be taught to do it properly. If you want to learn to sing, ideally you need a voice teacher. If you don't have access to one, the next best thing is a good book or audio course on singing, which will teach you the mechanics of it - proper breathing, how to transition between chest and head voice, etc. You can teach yourself this way if you are disciplined. Once you understand the hows of singing, the techniques, and practice a lot - then and only then can you start looking at the style of the singers you like and gain some understanding of how they produce the sounds they do.

Good luck with your progress. :)

  3. you can but its hard. i would just go to a teacher.

  4. It depends what style you're trying to match.

If you actually want a good voice, I'd suggest auditioning for a choir or taking private lessons. This way you'll learn classical style and tone production as well as breathing and projection.

If you just want to be a pop star, go right ahead.

  5. Well....I am a self taught singer. And my advice would be to start out small, try songs that will be easy for you to sing. Constantly challenge yourself though, this will build up you're vocal chords and increase you're wind. The only thing that will make you great is lots of practice and time.  You will get there... I did.

    Good luck and God bless.

  6. The gift to sing is given by God, if your not born with it, then it would be nearly impossible unless you had a life change, and suddenly God anointed your voice to reach others, which has happened to many people.Or like some who have made a deal with the devil, and sold their soul for money. But I'm sure you noticed there are a lot of singers on the radio that sing awful, but there are young people who seem to like it.
