Question:

Teacher's Whisky, Vegan Friendly?

I have been looking for vegan friendly food lists from the UK but haven't found many good ones as most are American. I've had particular trouble trying to find out if Bell's and Teacher's whisky are vegan friendly. If anyone has a link to a website with UK vegan friendly foods and/or can answer the whisky dilemma please do, it would be extremely helpful.

  1. Afraid not,

The pesticides sprayed on the Barley is there to kill organisms.

  2. Bells is.

Teachers is probably not as it is a blend of many malts,

some of which are probably not, as may be matured in ex

sherry barrels, which in turn may have not been vegetarian/vegan.

  3. I think the real question here is why are the  other brands not vegan friendly?  What in their process uses an animal product?  I would hope that all whiskey is vegan friendly since there is absolutley no reason for an animal product to be used.  Have you discovered brands that do use animal products?

  4. http://www.veggiewines.co.uk/popularspir...

no sign of Teachers on this list

What particular foods are you looking for?

  5. all (alcoholic) spirits are vegetarian/vegan friendly - it is only wine that can contain animal products

  6. Does it really matter??

  7. I would have thought that after one or two of them, it really wouldn't matter whether they were vegan friendly or not ! Bear in mind that they consist of Rye, barley, malt.......
