  1. it sucks, if they can't get by on 30k a year they want shooting, they want another 3k a year ! it stinks, tell you what all of us on 20k a year should go on strike and watch the country come to a d**n standstill. our local education authority fine parents who take their kids out of school for more than the 10 authorised days, how about we fine the education authority for failing to provide our kids with an education ! x

  2. Well I retired recently after 30yrs of teaching, both in the public and private sector. Considering all the targets and red tape my colleagues and friends go through they d**n well deserve a decent pay rise, along with nurses, firemen and police. Its about time for someone to stand up and be counted, 20K a year may seem a lot for some, not for those one parent teachers out there. GROW UP PEOPLE. You pay for what you get, not alot these days under this Govt.

  3. Aww, I'm off school then. If they wanted a better income then they shouldn't have chosen teaching as a career

  4. does that mean no school?

    woohoo :)

  5. i remember a few years back, when my school district was shut down because of a strike.  it lasted about a month. i was glad it happened because i had time 2 catch up on homework and chill w/ my friends

  6. I know it was on the radio but it's only for teachers who are with the NQT that are striking I heard it'll be towards the end of april

  7. People need to know what they are talking about before they comment.  I don't agree with the strike but I can also tell you as a teacher I do not earn £30k Dollybird.  I earn just over £20k, so are you saying I should strike?

  8. i have inset day on that day

    how sad is that

  9. yey :)

edit: no we off skwl then

  10. It's on the 24th of April.

  11. Too bad it isn't the US - the teachers here could stand to be replaced in many schools. I think teachers Unions make for poor educators.
