Teacher... Student... thing? ?

Is it ok for a teacher who has left the school to keep in contact with a student as friends. Just as friends and nothing more. Because they always used to talk and have a good friendship at the school and then the teacher moves half way across the world. ??

Yes as friends.You have to be careful though. If you moved to a different city they can still contact you but if you moved across the world then its fine.

However though if these students are emailing you and if you say something back that could be offended they could tell their parents and you get in trouble with the law. You don't want to be seen as pervert for keeping in touch with students/minors.

So only talk to them about how their school work is going and how their doing in sports or their personal activities they like(drawing,acting,video games,music)You can't get involved in their personal lives such as what is going on in home,if they have a boyfriend or girlfriend, and you can't answer their questions about s*x or puberty or masturbation you have to tell them to ask their parents or you could get in trouble.
