my vet tech teacher is ordering eggs for students to hatch. she says that it's one of the biggest and greatest sites and they don't ship the eggs, they bring them to the high school themselves. but she says that they are only offering chicken eggs and duck eggs. i have a hard time believing that that is all they are offering if it's such a great and big site. has anyone else heard of this website? i think she said that one of the carolinas are in the web address. i just can't remember which one. any help?

  1. How long do you have to sit on the egg for? Be careful if you get a duck egg, baby ducks can be very feisty, and could do some damage down there.

  2. Be happy that Carolina Biological offers a choice of chicken vs duck eggs. They work just as well as, say, ostrich eggs and are a heck of a lot cheaper.

  3. Yes I have heard of it.  Carolina Biological Supply Company.  The most respected biologicals supply company in America.  Many schools, community colleges, universities and research labs from around the world use this company.

Perhaps you do not understand, but it happens to be illegal to traffic in the eggs of wild animals.  Besides that using chicken eggs is a standard in biological research.  And, they are rather abundant in the USA.  So use the chicken eggs and leave the wild ones along.
