  1. 1.  I wouldn't.  It is not professional.

    2.  As long as their is a second income from the spouse, then you'll be fine.

    3.  Up until the first 4 years, if they don't like what you are doing, then yes, you can get fired easily.  After your 4th year, you are generally granted tenure.  After that it is A LOT harder to get rid of a bad teacher because of the teachers union.

    4.  I have no idea

    5.  Very, but if you love it, you don't mind

  2. Well seeing how I have several relatives that are teachers and my mom was one, well I could help you out in this area.

Ok for question one? No. Personally, I wouldn't add students on facebook or myspace. It just seems a bit awkward in a way. Unless if your a college/university teacher who is near them in age.

But yeah teachers do make enough to support a family. But also depends on how big their family is or what their spouse is making. Teachers can get fired easily. If they're too hard on their students, their students somehow keep flunking, they can't mark all the paper work, well you know the answers. You just need to use common sense and be up to date on everything.

But as for teachers going on tv? Well for one it depends on what they say, and on top of that, they only should get fired if they say something the school doesn't like. There is the freedom of speech. Teachers rarely go on tv. Don't worry about this one.

As for it being a hard job? Well that depends on what you find a hard job. If you like small classes, then go for that. But if you like big classes, then yeah it can be tough but I'm sure you'll like it. Its all up to you. You know what you like and what you don't like. Its all up to you.

    Hope I helped!

  3. 1, I don't know if that would be very professional, but I don't know about the legal aspect.  Personally I wouldn't.  Remember your their teacher not their friend.

    2.  It's not easy to support a family on beginning teacher salary.  It's more doable if your spouse has a job too.

    3. They can, but it depends on your state, unions, and school laws. Non-renewal, or them asking you to resign is more likely than being fired, unless you really s***w up.

    4.  I have no idea, sorry

    5.  It's not hard like calculus it's hard sometimes emotionally, and you have a lot of responsibilities, and expectations, and you have to be devoted, and willing to do everything.  But it's very rewarding, and well worth the challenges.
