Teachers, resume help!?

Question

I sent a resume to a prospective school to apply for d position of a primary teacher. D feedback that I got was that my resume wasn't 'professional' enough, and that d objectives that I stated weren't enough. Job-secured teachers, pls guide me in this?

when u typed, "d position of a primary teacher". actually, u shall type, "d position as a primary teacher"! but thats nvrmd! ok, come back to ur main problem! in ur resume, u must have name(of course), date of birth, any position u holded during ur study time in school(like president of english club),sports, ur best subject in school, y u want to become a teacher, n mur! but i think u shall ask ur school teacher n show them ur resume, the 1 that "unprofesional" to ur teachers n see wat they have to say to fix it! dont worry! thrs nothing to worry bout! ur heart will guide u to ur dream! wish u the best of luck from me to u! p.s. im a daycare teacher! we both in the same boat!

based on your writing here i am not surprised...very unprofessional...write like a teacher, not a kid...

Most colleges have a career counseling center.  I would grab your resume and take it to a career counselor.  Without seeing your resume, it's hard to help you fix it.

I was told once that my resume wasn't professional enough and I asked the employer what they meant because I was devastated by the comment as it was a job that I was sure I had.  I was told that I didn't have enough professional experience...

Also, if you have done anything more than a straightforward black and white resume on white paper, some schools don't like that.  So, if you used colored paper or have graphics, take them off or create a separate straight forward resume.

Also, did you use spell check and grammar check?  If your resume has mistakes such as these, that could make your resume seem less professional.
