Any teachers here? :) Please help me....This summer I am supposed to write an introductory letter to each of my 08-09 AP teachers. "Keep in mind that you never get a second chance to make a first impression." is all the assignment said. I don't know what my teachers want to read. lol What would you want to hear about your students in an introductory letter? and what are my teachers looking for?

I have to write to the teachers of the following courses:

AP environmental science

AP English 12

AP Government & Politics

AP Comparative Government

AP Spanish

  1. As an AP English teacher I would love to receive a letter written in the form of a villanelle or some other form of poetic language.  Or maybe in the same voice as one of your favorite classical authors.

Take this assignment as an opportunity to show what you know about the subject.  Reference current events in your environmental science class, utilize Spanish for your Spanish teacher.

Make lists for each of the classes (reread the class descriptions) and think about ways to metaphorically introduce yourself.  Your teachers will be impressed--trust me, we get a sea of, "Dear___, My name is___ and I enrolled in this class because ____ .

Enjoy the rest of your summer and good luck with all of those AP classes!
