Teachers: I really don't know how to feel better. What should I do?

I confided to my teacher who is the nicest teacher on earth. I told her everything that was bothering me and I cried so much.

I'm really afraid she won't talk to me and forget about me when she meets 75 new students this year(I'm in eighth grade and she teaches 7th and 8th grade social studies) And I'm really afraid that she will forget me and it makes me really sad.

If a student ever confided to you, will you forget about him/her when you meet 75 new students?

And if you're not a teacher: Do you think she'll forget about me and not talk to me anymore.

I'm dreading the first day of school tomorrow because it reminds me how I she might forget me.

What should I do? I was thinking about stopping by her classroom before school starts to say hi or something like that. I don't know. What would you do?

And how can I get hope and not think about the worse? I really need your help and please don't say anything mean and it would make me feel worse that I already feel.

Please help me. I will love any helpful advice on what to do.

Thank you.

  1. Just start bugging your new teacher.  Don't waste your old teacher's time.  She has new students to worry about, and I'm sure some of them will be needy and clingy.  Saying hello is fine, but don't take up all her time before or after school with your personal issues. She has work to do!

  2. Go see her! If you felt like you could confide in her and she was helpful to you go see her! I doubt she'll forget you if you guys were as close as you say so I wouldn't worry about that

  3. Go see her the first day of school.  I am a teacher and I get new students every year, but I forget very few. Especially if a student bonds with me.

  4. If you have confided in a teacher it is very unlikely she will forget about you.  I teach 120 students each year.  This year I begin my 11th year teaching and can still tell you about students from my first year.

Stop by her room and tell her how much you appreciate her taking her time and listening to you.

    Good luck with 8th grade

  5. Go see her and say hello!  I am positive she'll NEVER forget you.  I remember all my students (for a number of years at least).  And there are some who were extra special to me for one reason or another - I will never forget them.  In fact, I think about them all the time.  This is including two 6th graders who were having a really tough year and we worked through a lot together.  I changed districts 5 years ago and gave the girls my number in case they needed me.  One actually calls every now and then to check in and I love that.  It makes me happy to know she is doing okay.  I'm sure your teacher would love to know how things are working out for you.  So please don't worry about that - I would bet money that she won't forget you and, she'll be thrilled to see you!

  6. Don't worry, I'm sure your teacher won't forget you.  Teachers always remember the students who are special.  I bet it would make her day if you stopped by and said hello!
