  1. A Girl in my class is willing 2 to anything for me when she was having her reward time she asked is there any jobs we can do shes a great help and reminds me everything.

  2. I teach in a self- contained special ed class at the elementary level (4th-5th grade). They have learning disabilities. One of my students that I had for 2 years has been the most remarkable. She came to me not knowing how to read or write. She also had low skills across all academic areas. Despite that, she's very intelligent and has excellent oral communication skills. In 2 years' time, she has learned to read (decode and comprehension) at her grade level (5th). Her math computation is now at grade level (she can solve all types of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and long division computations). She can independently solve math word problems and has an understanding of concepts like fractions, decimals, averages, etc. We're working on mainstreaming her into a regular education class.

She  (and her mother) credits me to her being successful but I think it's her own will to succeed that has gotten her so far. This is a student who has achieved great things against incredible odds. I teach in a very poor community in New York. This particular child has lived in a shelter the past 2 years and has dealt with a lot of other hardships but she always keeps a smile on her face and a very positive attitude. She always comes to school prepared and ready to learn. She is well liked by everyone. I believe she will be extremely successful in the future.

  3. My most remarkable students have been ones that tested very low at the beginning of the school year, but worked very, very hard. They were always at school and always turned in homework. In most cases, their parents were very involved and supportive. These are the students that made the most progress during the year and learned the most.
