Question:

Teachers answer! Problem Solving help?

I am going to be helping some 11year olds in summer school, and I was wondering if anyone had the solution to a problem solving game I remember doing in school:

There are two people with a piece of string each.

They have the string tied to their wrists, and one of them crosses their string over the other persons string.

They have to figure out how to get out, without taking the string off their wrists.

I need to know the solution so if any of the kids figure it out, I know it's the right way.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

  1. go back the same way you went to cross it

  2. I always played this game at the beginnign of the year by gettign 10 students standign in a circle to cross their  arms and reach for someone elses hand.

the wrong way is to allow them to change their grip - that causes errors

i do this with a group of 10 kids holdign hands in a circle - no need for string

2 outcomes- either u get one twisted up circle

or u get 2 independent circles.

  3. Listen to a c.
