  1. I would always use my test and their weekly grades to monitor them. Also grading papers I would be able to see how they were progressing.

  2. If I could see all of them on their graduation day smiling  would be a good indicator

    Be Well

  3. There are a variety of ways to know if you are meeting your students needs. First you must know what their needs are. You need to take the time to get to know the students and their family situations. Then you need to give them good assessments and remember that not all students are "test takers", try to vary your assessments with portfolios, projects and oral assessments so that students who don't do well on standardized tests have an opportunity to prove themselves. When you find their weaknesses you can tailor lesson plans to target their specific needs. Further assessment can give you indications as to weather or not you are being successful. I always take ownership for not teaching material right if the entire class has a problem on a test or with a project rather than a student or two, then I will reteach the material. If only one or two or a few do poorly then I talk to them and try to determine why they are not succeeding. Good luck.
