  1. Teachers are to follow a strict code of ethics. Period.  Anything less is a career devastating choice.

  2. Keep them at arms length.

  3. Teachers need to be very careful with situations like the one you present. In the first place, this is why you shouldn't be too friendly with students, you need to create a line between what is a teacher and a "pal", specially when working with teenagers.

These type of delicate situations must be handled with extreme prudence because it would be fatal to hurt the student's feelings.

The teacher needs to avoid being alone with this student (or any other student) to avoid negative situations that can arise. If the situation gets out of control, meaning that the students start creating rumors or this specific student makes it public then definitely the teacher must report the situation to the school counselor. But if it's just an innocent, platonic crush, then the teacher simply needs to create a distance, and be simply a teacher, avoiding being too friendly; which is how you must be with all students: serious, formal, and never let them cross the line.

  4. If you THINK the student has a crush, ignore it, but be wary... don't put yourself in potentially compromising situations.  You don't want to be accused of anything these days.  Do not say anything to the student unless they directly say something to you about having a crush, because it is possible (however slim the chances) you are misreading the situation and bringing it up it may cause more problems.  If the student DOES make approaches or is flirting, kindly deflect the situation and remind them that it is innappropriate behavior.  Also document what happens, possibly sharing this with a supervisor or coworker so that if something comes up later you are covered.

  5. I think a teacher should convey early in the year that they can be friendly, but they are not the student's friend.  Students have friends/relationships at their own lvl, if they need adult interaction (being raised, parented, etc) they should be receiving that at home.

  6. I say that it is very flattering but that it will never work out.

  7. ACTUALLY,I AM A STUDENT OF 11CLASS AND I FEEL THAT HE OR SHE MUST BE REMINDED OF HIS OR HER QUALITY AND WRONG DOES THIS WILL HELP YOU TO GET RID OF THIS PROBLEM
