  1. I am going to take a stab at what you mean. But, the question is almost impossible to decipher.

Your obligation in the classroom is to provide a safe learning environment for kids. You are obligated to remove students from the class who display extreme behavior that stops kids from learning or threatens their emotional or physical safety. That being said, you never and I mean NEVER have the right to put your hands on a student. Whether friendly or not. Your students should be trained to run away from violence. If a kids turns aggressive you clear the classroom fire-drill style and let the aggressive kid tear apart the room if he/she so chooses until help can arrive.

I know someone is going to say "But, But, But what if I am protecting a kid?" NO NO NO. If a kids gets hit, it should only be because you didn't have the time to clear the room. If you were close enough to intervene, your body should serve as a barrier to let the others run, they will likely bump you or maybe even hit you. But, by that time you should be able to run too.

However, if you are talking a kid who physically is capable of overpowering you and you are knocked down/can't escape. Then, I will concede you need to do something to open the door for you to escape.

  2. I am also a teacher, but I'm not sure of the nature of your question.  Please repost with different wording so that I can help you.

  3. Sorry, but I think you are misusing the word "jurisdiction", and I'm not sure what you mean.

  4. Teach and keep control of the environment.  Unruly students should be sent to the office for an administrator to deal with.
