Teachers- what do you think about always distractive, loud, obnoxious students?

I'm currently a junior in high school, but last year I almost failed geometry because I was in a support class where 18 out of 20 students were always loud and shouting to each other across the room, applying make-up, going over to do each other's hair, etc. no matter what the teacher did. He tried sending them all out of the class once, the next day they came back loud as ever. Everything. And these aren't the kinds of kids that "might have a problem at home so they're expressing it", these are the type of kids that thought they were cool by failing and making others fail the class.

So I always wondered what he was thinking, because if I were any less shy I would have jumped up and cussed out each and every one of them - it was really hard not to do that by the end of the year. So, teachers, when you have students like this, what's going through your mind? I'm just curious.

  1. You think teachers will tell you that they love obnoxious students?  In general, assuming they have been tested for mental illnesses and are not reacting to problems at home, we don't appreciate students who are distracting and obnoxious.

  2. 3 things

    1. ISS

    2. OSS

    3. Expulsion

    in that order.

If the parents don't come in and "take care of business", then you "remove them from the educational process".

You have to do something. If the TEACHER can't handle the group, then the principal MUST! the one thing they DON'T teach in college is CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT. YOu have to know that when you send students to the principal, something happens. As is obvious, your principal isn't going to. I understand the "dollar" thing. The "seats in seats". Watch LEAN ON ME. Joe Clark takes NOTHING off students. It takes a strong administration to deal with those that don't want to learn. Let them flip hamburgers for the rest of their life.
