  1. Center just means an area of the room sectioned off for an activity. Usually if its on the schedule that way, it means free centers, or letting the children choose their own area (risky with 3yearolds)

Manipulatives are small to medium sized toys that encourage hand/eye coordination, creativity and things like stacking and interlocking. That would usually be blocks, small puzzle toys, lacing toys, and things like that. They would be in a center of their own.

And don't worry, 3 year olds are very good at entertaining themselves!

  2. That will involve hands on activities.  It could be almost anything from finger painting to play dough to legos.  You will work with them and help them to do things with their hands that will improve their coordination.

  3. Watch out for the most heart breaking temper tantrums you'll ever see. Not for nothing the terrible threes.

  4. cenyter is 'their do' and so is manipulatives. Center is dress up, computer etc and they play in small groups. Manipulatives iI think is blocks which they also play.

  5. Manipulatives r blocks, legos, sand, beans, rice, anything that is hands on, you can have different centers, science, listening, art, and even music
