Theoretically:

I have a class of 30 Thai students, ages 14-16. What kind of cool games can I do with them to break the ice and let them have fun at the same time? I don't want to do anything cheesy. Thanks!

  1. Get them to act out TV commercials and the rest of the group has to guess what commercial they are acting. (They have to use dialogue of course)

Or play the alibi game.  Pair them up and tell them that there was a crime committed last night and they are under suspicion. Give them 5 minutes to come up with an alibi (they were both in the same place, doing the same things).  Then send one of the pair out of the room for 3 mins and have the rest of the group ask questions about their alibi (Tell them to be specific, like "what color were you wearing", etc). Then the other person comes back in and they ask that person the same questions.  Their stories have to agree otherwise they are the criminals!

  2. Usually kids enjoy games that require energy since they have a lot of it and they need a release.

  3. The page below has some links to great games and activities for teaching students. Enjoy!
