I am currently teaching a 3 yr old a one hour lesson, each week on a sat, for English, however because its summer, the mum requested extra lessons, for two hours for 4 consecutive days. I only have a lesson plan for one hour, which consists of 10mins of singing and introduction. 10 mins of game e.g counting things, 15 mins of activity e.g handpainting, 10 minute of snack time. 10 minute of storytime, and 5 minutes of singing again. I dont know how to extend this to make it 2 hours long, she is only three yrs old, and for all i know, they dont have a long attention span? i am teaching for one month atleast. so im needed 16 X 2 hours lessons..any tips or ideas would be much appreciated?thanks!!!

  1. i found that rosetta stone is an awesome way to teach children another language. they show then picture and say it in the new language they are learning. this is a very natural way to learn cuz its the same way we all learned our native language by ppl pointing and telling us what things are, for example in english it will show a picture of a cat and say "cat" after a bit when she sees a picture or a cat she will think "cat" maybe try to throw in some of this type of learning. rosettastone.com has the software and it is appropriate for all ages.

  2. you need to extend the music time. best bet with a toddler is music. also, you could watch cartoons with her and make her understand stuff in it.
