  1. Is this an ESL class?

Try having them make foxes, use feathers and pipecleaner, or something (google it).  Then write a story, or a sentence, or a paragraph depending on their level.  Have them write it and tell the story to the class.

Or try the link below for other lesson plan ideas.

  2. Nine year olds would definitely enjoy coloring pictures of foxes.EVEN better, though, would be to ask them to draw some pictures after you have shown them what they look like.

You could even ask them to draw a picture of a fox doing something, and then explain it to the class to practice their English!

If you have been given specific sentences to cover, I would definitely look for pictures to illustrate each of them. I also liked the idea of stuffed animals. A stuffed fox should not be too difficult to find. I don't know what country you will be in, so remember the idea of a fox might be totally foreign to them.

Another idea to incorporate is to make a fox writing page. Take an outline of a fox and put blank lines inside of it. (Instead of using plain lined writing paper!) Have them write simple sentences in English about what they have learned.

  3. Since it's nine year olds, I'd say use lots of visuals (pictures, stuffed animals, etc.), I think it's easier to learn from. Even now being sixteen, I wish my teachers used pictures and stuffed animals to teach us =(

Best of luck with the job =)
