Teaching Home Ec?

What is it like to teach Home Ec (I am interested in hearing from people who teach it, or from people who know of anyone who teaches it)? Is it stressful? Is it fun? Is there a lot of work to take home?

To answer your question honestly, everything is with students in perspective.  All teaching is stressful.  All subjects require that you take a lot of work home.  I have been teaching for over seventeen years and I swear I have not met one teacher who disagrees.

Is it fun.  Sure it is more often than not.  Why?  Because this is a course "students WANT to take, not have to take."

I would highly recommend you also get duel certified.  When school districts are short on funds, guess what teachers get cut first.  Certified in another subject will keep you employed.

Go observe a local school.
