Teaching Pre-School/Kindergarten?

In January I'm going to start a 1 year certification program followed by a 15 week internship in Early Childhood Instruction at a community college. I know this will get me qualified to work in a Day Care facility but will I be able to work in a Pre-School or Kindergarten class?

  1. It depends on your state. Ask the college...they will be able to tell you. It sounds like you could teach nursery school. I do not think it will cover Kindergarten. That is a separate degree here.

  2. try a low income private school. i work in one and it would hire u easily but u might get very little pay.

  3. You may also be qualified to teach in a Head Start / Early Head Start program, but not any public school kindergarten or preschool.  They have to have teacher's certification (4 yr. degree)..
