  1. It really depends on what you would like to study as your specialism and for your main teaching degree.  I would suggest English.  Every primary school should have a literacy co ordinator ot english specialist, so there are always vacancies. Also, primary schools always need a pianist or musician so performance studies may be useful.

  2. To teach in a primary school, you dont need any specific subject qualifications, ie english, or french (although its helps to have a speciality).

What you need, is GCSEs c+ in English, Maths and a Science subject, and preferably a language.

Then you need either a levels, or an access course, something which you can progress onto a degree with. forget doing subject specific degrees, then a PGCE (which is mainly used for those who wish to teach secondary) and just do a degree in Primary education with QTS.

if you enjoy performing arts, then progress with it - it can count towards your qualifications if you do wish to take up teaching.

  3. A level Communication Studies

    A level English Language

    A level Performance Studies

i know u would need these three...you should visit a school around your area and ask the teachers what you wil need

  4. I would try and focus on getting the qualifications in the subject your interested in teaching.

However you find with primary school teaching you have to go in and do  'broad spectrum teaching' first. Things like Math's, English, Science and other national curriculum basics.

If your more interested in specialised subject teaching you should maybe think about going into secondary school teaching.

I would definately look at doing the A level English. That has helped me alot with my teacher training.

    Good luck

  5. I'm a Y5/6 Primary teacher :)

Definitely go for the English Language A level - English is a core subject in Primary school.

To be honest the other A levels won't matter too much.

You'll do a main subject degree (e.g BA Hons in English and Education with Qualified Teacher Status) when you train and I doubt any school would look at the A levels you have.  Obviously you will take one of your A levels on to degree level so just choose the subjects you enjoy.

If you are good at Languages this may be a useful A Level to consider instead of those you list as Foreign Languages will be a compulsary subject in Primary Schools in the near future.  To be able to teach that would give you an advantage.

I assume you already have GCSE Maths and English?  You need both of these to be a teacher.

  6. A level Art

    A level Communication Studies

    A level English Language

    hope it helps
