Community colleges are more interested in your teaching skills than your research skills.  They will often require you to teach 5 courses a semester.  Universities rarely require more than 2, but expect you to be actively doing research and bringing in grant money - so they put more emphasis on research than teaching.

the expectation at the University SHOULD be higher. community college means just that. You will get a great cross section than a university. doesn't mean you will need any less documentation, you will need to be able to deal with a broader range of people
