  1. Just be careful is the advice and if you see teachers hitting their kids and yelling at them that is customary in the asian way seriously.  But be careful about the driving the driving is the top reason of death accidents there in Vietnam but my advice is just not go there paperwork is so so long.  Also be prepared to bribe the policeofficers and airport personals they take bribes if you don't have cash and you are bleeding on the floor they won't care about you it is always cash first.  Also the medicine there is not extensive for more medical things you have to be flown out to Bangkok and Singapore so good luck:)

  2. instead of having ur eye on Hanoi u should watch out for RAMBO *^_^*

  3. You don't say what subject you want to teach (I assume English) and you don't say what teaching skills you possess (I assume limited).

The big English training centers want CELTA or equivalent certification - but have been known to hire EXPERIENCED teachers who don't have CELTA certification. There are other schools that will take non-certified native speakers as teachers. If you want to teach other subjects and have a teaching certification and experience, check out UNIS, RMIT, and a couple of other high school/university campuses - the names of which escape me. Google time!

Ha Noi doesn't exactly qualify as a non-tourist area, but it is a nice city!
