  1. Everything stated above about the cost of living is correct, but whether or not it is enough is entirely dependent on your lifestyle.  Prior answers have stated that it is insufficient for cities like Beijing and Shanghai.  Very true if you eat out everyday and frequent bars and clubs.  You can get by for a lot less than that in places like Shanghai once your rent is covered.

I would assume based on your numbers that you are not considering one of the major cities however, as the going rate for teachers is between 8,000 and 12,000 RMB.  In a smaller city that is more than enough.

  2. Buddy, it depends on where u locate, if make that money in Beijing, I would say that's not much, if your mother tongue is English and u teach it here, u can at least get a payment of 10000 i guess. So good luck.

  3. It depends on where you'd be teaching.  In Hong Kong, or Shanghai, that wouldn't cut it.  In a more out of the way city, you'd do just fine.  When you say accommodation is included I'm assuming you mean the school will supply you with an apartment, computer access, and probably even meals in the school cafeteria.  If those things aren't supplied, of course your RMB would be stretched even further.  If you tell us where you'll be, you will get a better answer.

  4. I think it's a good idea. But which city do you want to stay in? Because each city has its own consumption lever. Take a look at this site. It provides job finding in China reservation service. I hope it would help you find a good job. Good luck!

  5. I am a chinese student.

I do not know wher you are live and will you have to rent a room, because china is very large , economic is not the same. so i the answer is quite miserable.

  6. think its cheap

  7. it depends on the city you will live and your personal needs

a bus ticket (within the city) = 2-4 local money

    a snack = 2-10-20 local money

fruit = 6-8 local money for 500 g (local measure unit called "jin")

    a bottle of water 18 L = 10 local money

    a T-short = 30-40 local money

    a bottle of milk (2 L) = 15-20 local money

    hope it helps

  8. china is a huge country with a huge land,so the econ mic level varies from one region to another,in west of china, the live spending is quite lower than that of east region,in shanghai, beijing, and Gong dong province, the high economic level ,the 4500 to 5500 is not enough.

  10. In most of China that should be enough money for you to live off adequately but in some of the more expensive districts you may need more. I would need more information on the area you are staying in.
