I am training to be a primary teacher with a specialist in maths, i want to move to wales but i dont know if this is possible. Do you need to speak welsh to live in wales? Also is there anything which i would need to do to move to wales or can i just move straight there? Are the salaries for a teacher different in wales?

  1. I cannot give you correct information, but you may contact the embassy office

  2. although most welsh people can speak welsh, english is also one of their main languages so you should get by without speaking welsh, unless of course you have to teach welsh lessons. do you live in the uk at the moment? i cant see just moving to wales being a problem as its all part of the uk but considering its a different country maybe there are certain things you would have to do to be able to live there. regarding the salaries, i dont know sorry.

  3. I can't believe you're training to be a teacher and need to ask some parts of this question.  You can just drive into Wales because it is part of the UK.  Only a minority of people in Wales actually speak welsh and very few use it as their first language except in some parts of north and west Wales.  The are moves to re-establish the welsh language and so all teachers in Wales have to have a welsh language certificate and all schools have to teach some lessons in welsh to all children.
