Teaching interview turn around time?

School for elementary here starts in a week. If someone had an interview for a position today, how soon do you think they would know if they got the teaching position?

  1. With school about to start, I would think if they want to hire you it would be a very quick turn around time.  Good luck to you!!


  2. Usually the turn around time is a few days. It really depends on how many other people are interviewed. Some interview teams I've been on, have had the interviews back to back therefore the decision was made at the end of the day. Then the principal took an additional 2/3 days to call and check references. If for the most part the references worked out and they usually do then the offer is made to the first choice applicant.  If they accept, the principal calls the others. If they decline then the hiring committe meets back to discuss whether they want to hire the second or third runner up OR just begin the interview process again.

  3. If school starts in a week, you may very well know right away, immediately after the interview.  Different places handle things differently, and usually it takes a few days.  However, with school starting so soon, you should expect a prompt reply if you got the job.  Good luck.
