I am teaching my first sunday school lesson from James 2:1-9 to 4th and 5th graders. I am going to use Love as my main focus- but I need help with ideas and how to stretch this into a 30-40 minute lesson. Any ideas-I'm nervous!!

  1. Just don't make it to boring because 4-5th graders hate that!  Just don't tell any jokes because they are going to think you look stupid!  Just to the material and add some games in there!  Also dont make them listen to long but dont ask to many questions!  Plus if you do do a game and they dont like the sound of it get three ideas of games from the kid and take heads down vote!  That way you will have done that class nice and smooth and the kids will like you which is always a bonus!  Have fun!

  2. Talk about love in general first. Use such subjects as what is love anyway --- definition? At this age you will likely get the focus on family love. Then move to the Biblical lesson.
