  1. You might try contacting the school in the area you are planning to move to to find out what textbook they are using so you can order a used copy.

  2. roman Britain

    1066 battle of Hastings

    Henry 8Th

    Elizabeth 1st

    Victoria

  3. i would just cover fun stuff at that age, castles that kind of thing

  4. http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/ancient/bri...

    wud be a great start

    then move onto

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/british/

  5. I would start with the encyclopedia and the internet.  Use a search engine and find all of the great information websites.

Also, get the old G. A. Henty novels -- he is a Brittish author that wrote awesome historical fiction.

I would use a globe to show where England is found -- and an atlas.

  6. My kids started with modern culture, then worked their way back. It was fun for them to see how different (and the same) it was, and then say, "Well, where did *this* policy come from?" and follow it back to wars, battles, cultures, etc.

There is no 'first' to learn, start with interests and you might check out the "What your first grader needs to know" They have great stories in there, and you can just choose what to do.

  7. If you want to start from early on - start with the Celts!

    Celts

    Romans

    Saxons

    Vikings

    Normans

    Plantagenates

    Houses of Lancaster and York

    Tudors

    Stuarts

    Hanoverians

Victorians (covering the Industrial Revolution etc)

Modern day - After Queen Victoria there was - Edward VII, George V, Edward VIII, George VI and now Queen Elizabeth II

The above is mainly the royal family (which is very fascinating and a much better read than any spy/thriller novel)

Within the different areas you could expand e.g. Romans - quite a few place names in Britain were named by Romans or had forts there! For the Middle Ages you could study castles - that's a topic in itself! etc.

Try the BBC website for ideas! Below is the general History section!

    All the best
