  1. Have you tried "Jolly Phonics?"  It is just wonderfull, the set comes with sing-along tapes and boards.  The kids just love the songs!

  3. The hooked on phonics program as good as far as teaching letter/phonetic sounds and then blending them together to form words..is a bit pricey.

Another approach is from McGraw-Hill, called the Letter People.

  4. Try www.atozteacherstuff.com.  That's a good source for lesson plans.

  5. I love the book by Fountas and Pinnell.... Letters, Words, and How they Work.  It costs about 75 dollars through Amazon used, but it is the best investment in my teaching career that I have made.

It gives lots of lessons to use for phonics!  They sell the books by grade level as well.

  6. The program that always comes to mind is Jolly Phonics.  My son found it easy to follow (at 5 years).  I found that the playful introduction of new sounds and blends helped him with faster recall.

The website for the company is below (click information for a nice description of the program)  Wikipedia even has an entry for it which you may find helpful!

    Best of Luck!
