I have to teach a preschool class for one day, and the theme is cartoons. Does anybody have any ideas that I could do? I already have a couple of crafts, so I am trying to stay away from that but does anybody have any other ideas I could do?

  1. Sit them all down and watch anime Asian cartoons for the entire time they're there and then have them discuss the themes, storylines and relevance to their lives.

  2. Most kids have a cartoon they love.  You can invite the kids to use their halloween costumes and dress up like a favorite character and then demonstrate or tell  some thing about the character they like or dislike.

Kids love to make silly voices, and like to hear them as well.  Record various voices and see if they can identify the cartoon or show.  Have them give their best, "if I was a cartoon I would sound like this"

If I was a cartoon and my special power would be and why?

Have some one dress up and come in and read a story.  Ask the kids to look at this person and think of some powers that they might have.  You could have the person give hints to what powers they have and let the kids guess.

  3. Kids love Dora. Sing a Dora song with the kids using some stuffed Characters, The kids can dance and sing along, most kids know her songs, and they will learn spanish which is being taught standard in most preschools and elem. school anyway.

  4. Some kind of physical activity, how about getting the kids to imagine having a superpower and then getting them to act it out? You could get them to pretend to fly or be really strong...This would need an element of control tho, so be prepared to move them on quickly if it gets a bit much. you could also get them singing if you're brave!
