Teaching strategies for fragile X?

hi am starting prac in a couple of weeks and will have a young teenage boy with fragile X in some of my classes. Can anyone give me some advice on relevant classroom approaches, teaching strategies and resources that will be of benefit for both of us.

  1. Fragile X mimics autism. So I would first read his IEP it should tell you what he needs to work on and what his strengths and weaknesses are. That will tell you what areas you should concentrate on.


  2. I agree with reading the students IEP.  They generally require structure and calmness with firm expectations and guidelines for achievement.
