Question:

Teaching swimming?

Hi!

I am a competetive swimmer and recently been asked to teach a 4 year old to swim. She has no prior experiance, but can hold her breath and float.

I was thinking of working on things like bubble jumps, streamline, shark fin, and zipper drill.

Any other advice would be great! Keep in mind that she doesn't have a long attention span also.

Thanks a million, K

  1. I think zipper drill will be too advanced for her.  I would try kicking with a kick board, kicking with a kickboard and having her alternate pulling with her arms, "scooping ice cream" instead of the more difficult drills.  Blowing bubbles, jumping to you off the stairs, etc.

    Good luck!

  2. yea i think your on your way!!!!!!
