Teak coffe table burn marks!?

Question

I have a slatted teak coffee table/bench, a few weeks ago I set a plate or pan that was too hot on it and it discolored the wood. Its not charred looking, more grayish white. I've tried Old English and furniture wax but it hasn't helped.

I;ve heard that if you take a soft white cloth like a t-shirt and put it over the mark and run an iron on low over the shirt for a while it will remove the ring seems to me you have a water mark from the condensation on the pan
