Teak hot favourite for Betdaq Haydock Park Apprentice Training Series Handicap
Teak is likely to dominate proceedings in the Betdaq Haydock Park Apprentice Training Series Handicap (Part of The Racing Excellence Initiative) at Haydock in England on Thursday, June 14, 2012. The winner of the class-5 event will be awarded a cash prize
of £2,264.
The going will be good to soft in the 1 mile, 3 furlong and 200 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 18:50 GMT. A total of 11 runners have been attracted towards the event and their names are as follows: Teak, Bavarian Nordic, Climaxfortackle, Dubara
Reef, Aegean Destiny, Graceful Descent, Amir Pasha, Silver Tigress, Bollistick, Isitcozimcool and Shaloo Diamond.
Out of the above mentioned runners, there is a possibility that Climaxfortackle might not take part in the race. There is no confirmation of her availability yet, but a final decision will be taken before the start of action.
Looking at the recent performances of all the runners, the best chances of winning are with Teak. He has got some useful experience as well, which will encourage the punters to place a lot of bets on him.
The five-year-old gelding has participated in 22 events until now, winning three of them and finishing runner up on a couple of occasions. In addition to that, he has also finished third on four times, which proves that he has the ability to fight at the
front.
In his most recent run, the Ian Williams’ trainee finished runner up, despite being rated as the favourite to win. He had won a couple of back to back victories prior to that event, which shows that he is carrying terrific momentum right now. The conditions
at Haydock will definitely work in his favour and it will be difficult to match his stamina.
Teak will be partnered by Matthew Cosham, who is a decent rider, but has not enjoyed a lot of success in his career so far. His strike rate is not much impressive, but his recent performances have been good, which will give him a lot of confidence.
On the other hand, Bavarian Nordic might also manage to make an impression in the race. He has got a lot of experience and can match the best in the business at this level.
