Team Aqua’s Chris Bake and Cameron Appleton excited to sail at the 2011 Adris RC44 Cup
The beautiful fishing port of Rovinj in the north of Adriatic Sea will host the penultimate event of the 2011 Adris RC44 Cup, as the 2011 RC44 Championship Tour heads to Croatia this time. Current podium leaders, Team Aqua, which is owned by Chris Bake and
led by Cameron Appleton, are quite excited to be a part of the championship in Croatia.
The event will be held from September 28-October 2 and is set to feature best sailing teams from around the world including defending champions, Oracle Racing. The squad is currently at second place overall behind Team Aqua, who hit top spot on the podium
with four points after four events and one discard.
Team Aqua is the match and fleet race leader on the board at the same time. They hope to perform better in the upcoming event to retain their top spot in RC44 tour. The consistent performance form Bake and Appleton has brought their team to the glory which
they possess now. However, they can be challenged by defending champions, Oracle Racing, who is second with seven points.
While speaking to local media about the championship, Appleton said, “We’ve been really pleased with how our year has gone and we have been really consistent. As the fleet gets deeper and the numbers increase it gets harder and harder so we just have to
keep focusing on what has been successful for us and the small refinements to make sure the basics are being concentrated on so we are always sailing the boat at the highest level.”
