Team Argentina is getting ready to take on Finland in the fifth week of 2011 FIVB World League. The two teams are set to be featured in two matches on consecutive days. First match will be held on Thursday, June 23, while the second match will be followed
on the next day.
The Argentinean team will stay in the country, while Finnish team is supposed to travel to the city of Formosa. Polideportivo Cincuentenario sports hall in Formosa has been selected as the host of thrilling matches.
Javier Weber’s team is one of the four pools leaders of the 2011 FIVB World League. They have worked out a great performance in Pool C by winning seven out of 8 matches. They have spent four successful weeks at the podium of 2011 FIVB World League. In the
first week, they received early burns from Serbia in the opening match but dismantled their power in the second match. Second week of the tournament saw the rise of Argentineans against Team Portugal as they claimed two victories.
Finland’s team put up against Argentina in third week and staged some heated competitions. However, Argentinean side managed to subdue the Finnish team and captured both matches. Lately, Argentina once again overpowered Portugal and obtained 6 points for
winning two matches.
This year, it is one of their performances by Argentina. They just need one more win to establish a new record of huge success since the start of FIVB World League. One more victory for Argentine means that team will be playing in the Final Round of the
championship for third consecutive year.
Likewise Finnish team, headed by Coach Daniel Castellani, is staying at number 3 in the ranking of Pool C. Finland’s team is certainly looking forward to an improvement in the results. They are also undergoing extensive training, in order to sharpen their
skills. It will be interesting to watch them coping with the power of resilient rivals in the next two matches.
