Team Argos-Shimano dropped four cyclists while Team NetApp-Endura announced three new signings for the season ahead
The Dutch Professional Continental squad, Team Argos-Shimano has announced today that it will not renew the contract for four of its riders including, Dominic Klemme, Roger Kluge, Ronan van Zandbeek and Thomas Bonnin.
"The team management has decided to not renew the contracts of these four riders because they not fully fit in the sportive image and the vision for 2013, as the team has in mind," the team posted on its website.
Klemme rode with the World Tour side, Team Saxo Bank through 2009-2010 and spent one year with Team Leopard Trek but his deteriorating form could not secure him more than one year with the Luxembourg team.
He had no other option but to accept a one-year contract with Team Argos-Shimano in 2012 but has struggled to post win throughout the season.
The German has been signed by the UCI Professional Continental debutant side, Team IAM Cycling for the season ahead and is optimistic to find the right form for 2013.
He will be accompanied by Marcel Aregger, Marco Bandiera, Matthias Brandle, Rémi Cusin, Stefan Denifl, Martin Elmiger, Jonathan Fumeaux, Kristoff Goddaert, Heinrich Haussler, Sébastien Hinault, Reto Hollenstein and Kevyn Ista,
Permin Lang, Gustav Larsson, Thomas Löfkvist, Matteo Pelucchi, Alexandr Pliuschin, Sébastien Reichenbach, Aleksejs Saramotins, Patrick Schelling, Johann Tschopp and Marcel Wyss will also accompany Dominic in the new team.
The 2008 Olympic Games Silver medallist, Roger Kluge could not prove his worth to the team as he found his name just outside the medals table in the 2012 Olympic Games medals.
The 26-year-old’s road pursuit this season was even more disappointing as he failed to claim a single win to his name.
Other transfer news includes the signing of three cyclists by Team NetApp-Endura for the new season.
"We were trying very hard to recruit David de la Cruz. Although he has only been racing for five years, he demonstrated his great talent this year,” Team Manager Ralph Denk noted.
“He placed second at the Vuelta a Asturias and in the top five at Castilla y Leon and the Tour of Portugal, so he will be a perfect addition to our squad”.
“Our team already had a very solid lineup for tours, and now with David it's even better," Denk concluded.
The British team has hired the services of David de la Cruz (Team Caja Rural), Jose Mendes (Team LA Aluminios – Antarte) and Ralf Matzka (Team Thuringer Energie) for the new season.
