Team Astana, Team Cannondale and Team Lampre begins 2013 training
The last month of the season normally means the start of hard training for most of the professional cycling teams.
Three World Tour, Team Astana, Team Cannondale and Team Lampre have started to their respective training camps in order to get in shape for the season ahead.
The Kazakhstani side, Team Astana will set up a 10-day camp in Arzachena, Northern Sardinia.
Team did well to secure the tenth overall position after the 2012 World Tour teams rankings with a total number of 645 points to its credit.
Roman Kreuziger (189 points), Enrico Gasparotto (150 points), Janez Brajkovic (106 points), Maxim Iglinsky (100 points) and Francesco Gavazzi (100 points) performed well to help the team achieving a top-ten spot.
Similarly, Team Liquigas-Cannondale becoming Team Cannondale in 2013 has also started to get in the miles before hitting the new season.
The team will miss the services of their top performer, Vincenzo Nibali after the cyclist moved to Team Astana for the season ahead.
It has also lost the US National Champion Timmy Duggan, the American has penned a deal with Bjarne Riis’ side, Team Saxo Bank.
However, the in-form Ivan Basso and Peter Sagan remains intact with the side and will be leading the strong Italian line-up including, Lucas Sebastian Haedo, David Boily and Guillaume Boivin.
Team Lampre has also started training to build-up for the new season in Northern Italy, Darfo Boario and cyclists will be introduced with their new Training Manager Michele Bartoli who is excited with the new role.
"It's great to be working with professional team like Team Lampre," Bartoli said in a press release.
"I'm passionate about my work and I like to follow riders closely and get to know them as people and their daily training so that they achieve their goals. My new role as a consultant will let me do this even more.
“There's no reason why we can't work well together and guarantee great support for the Lampre team," he concluded.
New team inclusions, Filippo Pozzato, Jose Serpa, Elia Favilli, Ariel Richeze and Roberto Ferrari will meet up the old team members, Alessandro Petacchi, Damiano Cunego, Diego Ulissi.
