Team Bissell Pro Cycling fired up for the Amgen Tour of California
US Continental side Team Bissell Pro Cycling has made its intentions clear for the 2012 edition of the Amgen Tour of California.
The team has noted that it will give all the teams a real run for their money right from the start of the Californian race.
Tour of California is scheduled from May 13-20, 2012 and is considered as one of the biggest American road race.
A number of renowned cyclists from 16 different teams are all set to experience one of the best cycling race across the region.
The final list of the teams includes, Team AG2R La Mondiale, Team Argos-Shimano, Team BMC, Team Orica-GreenEdge, Team Liquigas-Cannondale, Team Omega Pharma-QuickStep, Team Rabobank and Team RadioShack-Nissan.
Team Garmin-Barracuda, Team Colombia Coldeportes, Team Spidertech Powered by C10, Team UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling, Team Bissell Pro Cycling, Team Bontrager Livestrong, Team Exergy and Team Optum Pro Cycling.
Team Bissell Pro Cycling was founded back in 2005 and the American side has been impressive over the past six years.
Team Director Omer Kem noted, "When we go to the Tour of California, we're 100 percent there to be aggressive and race every day like it's its own race".
"That's how we get our sponsors on TV. We have to be in those breakaways, otherwise we're really then just riding”.
“If you go to California and you ride around all week, and your sprinters never really make it to the end on those days that could potentially be a sprint day, you're not going to get invited back. We're there to be aggressive and make the race", he concluded.
The team rode brilliantly at the Tour of the Gila and Eric Young helped the side with its first victory of the 2012 season.
He rode exceptionally well and bagged a much needed stage 2 win for the American side.
Team has announced its final squad for the coming event including six American and two Kiwi riders in the line-up.
Christopher Brown, Chris Barton, Andrew Dahlheim, Ben Jacques-Maynes, Carter Jones, Frank Kevin Pipp are all American with Jeremy Venell and Patrick Bevin from New Zealand.
